Hinjawadi Police Registers FIR Man Brutally Beaten Up, Valuables Stolen
Pune: A group of people allegedly thrashed a Hinjawadi man, looted his mobile phone, vehicle key and fled from the spot. The incident occurred on November 12 and Hinjawadi police have registered an FIR in the case.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, the victim, a resident of Hinjawadi, requesting anonymity said, “I was going from Wipro circle. Opposite the Grand Tamanna Hotel in Hinjawadi Phase – 2, I saw a boy & 2 girls riding triple seats on a motorcycle. A girl was shouting for help. So, I intervened & stopped the vehicle after which the boy, riding the vehicle, tried to heckle me & told me to go away. By that time, both girls got off the vehicle & tried to hide behind me. The boy acted as if to beat the girls. I was trying to stop him. Near a nearby crossing, there was an auto-rickshaw. So, I told the girls to go home in the rickshaw. But the rickshaw driver was involved in this too. By that time, the boy called other people. After some time, the boy & the rickshaw driver started beating me. One of the girls stole my two-wheeler vehicle key & the girls & the rickshaw driver fled in the rickshaw. 2 more people came & started beating me along with the boy. But I saved myself. However, one of the persons stole my mobile phone, and punctured one of my two-wheeler vehicle tires &, by the time I could catch them, all 3 ran away.”

Dipak Parkale, Hinjawadi Police Officer said, “The FIR has been registered against the accused & further investigation is going on to catch them which will happen soon.”
As per further information from the FIR accessed by Pune Pulse, the victim’s mobile phone worth Rs 10,000 & his two-wheeler key worth Rs 100 have been stolen by them. A case has been registered with the Hinjawadi Police under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
